How Does a Barrel Tuner Work
Barrel Harmonizers, Barrel Tuners, Harmonic Adjusters are different names for basically the same principal. Barrel tuners have been around for quite a while and are used often in bench rest competition with great efficiency. When a rifle is fired and the bullet is traveling down the barrel, the barrel is vibrating ever so slightly. The trick is to have the bullet leave the barrel when the barrel is at the top of the upswing. It is no secret that reloaders have been producing incredible accuracy for years. For reloaders it is simple adjust the powder charge (speed of the bullet) slowly until the smallest group is obtained. Reloaders are just matching their recipe to the barrel harmonics. It is not at all uncommon for a 3-5 MOA rifle to become a 1/2 to 1 MOA rifle once the barrel harmonics have been adjusted.
Adjustments are Easy and Precise
Precision adjustments are made by loosening the lock nut, rotating the indexed nut and re-tightening.
